Terms of Use
Last updated 14 June 2026
These terms govern your participation in the Greyspace Index, operated by Greyspace (“Greyspace”, “we”, “us”). By registering and submitting a response, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not submit. They work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
Who can take part
The benchmark is for senior operators at venture- and growth-stage software companies. You must register with a verified work email and may submit on behalf of your company. We allow one submission per company per cycle, and we vet every submission by hand before it enters the benchmark. We may decline or remove a submission at our discretion (for example, where it appears inaccurate or not made in good faith).
Your submission and its accuracy
You confirm that the figures you submit are accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you are authorised to share them. The benchmark’s value depends on honest data; you agree not to submit figures you know to be false or misleading.
The permission you give us
You keep ownership of the underlying figures you submit. You grant Greyspace a licence to use them to:
- compute and publish anonymised, aggregated results (medians, quartiles and similar peer statistics) in which your individual figures are never shown or attributed to you; and
- where you have provided free-text remarks and indicated they may be quoted, publish those quotes anonymised— by title and company type only, never your name.
If you opt in to the investor cohort feature, you also permit the specific investors you name to see your participation by name on their portfolio view. That option is off by default.
Our commitment to you
We treat your individual figures as confidential. We do not sell them, and we publish results only in aggregate, as described in our Privacy Policy. Cohorts are sized so individual companies cannot be reverse-identified.
The benchmark is informational
The Greyspace Index is provided for general information. It is not financial, investment, legal or professional advice, and you should not rely on it as the sole basis for any decision. Early cycles are provisional and explicitly labelled as such; rankings sharpen as more peers report. We provide the benchmark “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including as to accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, scraped or automated data, or impersonate another person or company;
- attempt to de-anonymise other participants or reverse-engineer individual figures from the aggregates;
- scrape, resell or republish our outputs except as permitted, or interfere with the service.
Our intellectual property
The benchmark, the report formats, the methodology and the Greyspace name and marks are ours. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use the report we provide to you for your own and your company’s internal purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greyspace is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any decision made in reliance on the benchmark. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms from time to time; we will change the “last updated” date above. We may suspend or end the service, or a participant’s access, where reasonably necessary. You may stop participating and request deletion of your data at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and the courts located in New York have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law in your own country gives you rights you cannot waive.
